Press Releases and Public Announcements / Club standing and ride meeting
« Last post by cgroves on April 17, 2022, 10:39:39 AM »
Hello everyone,
With there being no volunteers stepping up to take control of the club we have officially changed the club to a social club only. There will be no organized meetings or events sponsored by the club at this time. We will maintain the website and forum for two years from November of 2021. When we have some members ready to step up and take control then we will revisit the club standing at that time. If nobody steps up at the end of two years we will fully dissolve all parts of the club and sell off all club property said funds then being disposed of according to rules set down in the club bylaws.

On a personal level I want to thank you all for your support during my tenure and I wish I could have done more to help save the club but I am afraid life is saying it is time to move on. I will still be there for rides and other get together a so I hope I will still see you all out on the trails.

If anyone wants to meet for coffee at the 4bs on Sunday the 24th at 1pm maybe we can sit and talk about some places to go riding this year.

See you on the trails
Chet

Hello to Everyone,

Over the last few years, I have had the privilege and honor of leading a dynamic, fun and exciting group of people through the trails and rocks of Montana and Wyoming. And in that time, I have met some wonderful new friends and sadly to say have lost some great friends. I have learned a lot about riding an ATV, learned a lot of new trails and gone on some great adventures and had a crash or two along the way to remind me that I am only human. So, it is with a great sadness that I officially announce that I am retiring as the President of Treasure State ATV Association and am passing on the mantle of leadership to some other brave soul.

This does not mean that I am leaving the club but that I am simply stepping away from the gavel. I will still be there to help and support our next leaders and of course I will still be a ride leader when I am needed.

This club was formed in 1998 for the express purpose of bringing a group of people together that had a passion for the outdoors and riding these beautiful mountains of ours. At this time with the events of the last couple years now losing their hold on us it is time to have some new blood step up and take some leadership in our club and lead us on a new trail. So I would like to strongly urge you all to come to the meeting on Nov 18th at the Elks lodge at 630pm and either volunteer if you have the time or help us find that next club officer that will help guide us forward. All officer positions are open to be filled and a couple board spots are as well. I am afraid that without those volunteers that the club might have to temporarily shutter our doors. Let's not let that happen please.

I would like to give my personal thanks to Jeanann Ankrum, Stewart Ankrum, Charlotte Dowdy, Dick Dowdy, Rhonda Gallagher, Kirk Shinler, Tony Barone, Bill Kemp, Lyle Forrester (RIP), Sammi Forrester, Dale Hert(RIP), Darlene Hert and all those others who I failed to mention. Without their help, advice and feedback I could not have accomplished many of the things that I have. THANK YOU.

I hope to see you all at the Elks Lodge on Nov. 18th at 630pm.

Thank You

Chet Groves

Press Releases and Public Announcements / First Aid Class to be held on October 9th 8am
« Last post by cgroves on September 30, 2021, 08:11:03 PM »
We are having our First Aid Class this year to be held on October 9th 8AM at the Lockwood Pacific Steel Recycling plant. The address is 3385 Coulson Rd. From the Johnson Lane exit head North on Johnson Lane to Coulson RD and take a right, if you go over the railroad tracks you have gone to far, follow Coulson RD to the plant and enter the plant through the main gate. Go to the backside of the building to park and enter the building there.

The cost of the class is $15.00 and lunch will be provided by the club. This is a certified first aid training course and you will be receiving a certificate for the class. There is only room for 15 people in the class and some of the seats have already been taken so to be fair to everyone I do require that everyone who wishes to attend MUST send an RSVP to me at tsatvride@gmail.com by Wednesday the 6th midnight. As i receive the RSVP I willl notify you if you are one of the 15. This class will last between 6-8 hours depending on the interaction and I would suggest wearing comfortable clothing.

Thank You

These are the directions from Kirk Shinler who will be the ride leader for everybody. I will include a link to the parking lot at the bottom of the page. Allow yourself extra travel time going over beartooth pass for summer traffic and the slower speeds on the pass.

This is where you turn in at and there is also a sign there saying Morrison jeep trail. This is off the Beartooth highway. Coming from Red Lodge the turn in for Morrison jeep trail would be on your left-hand side of the road across from Long Lake. Ride to the top of the switchbacks which is about 20 miles. The group can wait for anyone that wants  to go down and back up   It only takes 15 minutes to go down and then come back up     If you want to have breakfast I will be at Fort Rockvale for breakfast and leave fort Rockvale at 7:15   I will be at parking lot before 9 o'clock and we will leave on ride from the parking lot at about 9:30.

On Aug 21st we will be riding the Morrison Jeep Trail with Kirk Shinler as our guide. We have not set a place to meet yet and from what I understand they are either riding the whole trail or just doing the top part of the trail. As I get more information I will post it. Thank you for your patience.
